PET is hygroscopic,meaning it absorbs water from the air.If melted while wet,it undergoes hydrolysis,which breaks down the polymer chains and ruins the plastic's strength.

The Benefit:It reduces moisture levels to less than 0.02% before extrusion,ensuring the final pellets maintain their Intrinsic Viscosity (IV value).
2. Specialized Extrusion & High-Vacuum Degassing
The extruder is the heart of the pet reprocessing equipment.For PET,standard extruders won't cut it because impurities and residual moisture need to be forcefully stripped out during the melting process.
